The Nuances of Diagnosis and Management of Eczema in Skin of Color (AAN)

Despite the availability of established guidelines and expanding therapeutic options, gaps persist in recognizing and accurately diagnosing atopic dermatitis in skin of color, where clinical features such as erythema and morphology may present differently and contribute to misdiagnosis or delayed care. Clinicians may also under-recognize disease severity and the impact of health disparities on treatment access and be less familiar with emerging therapies. This activity aims to improve diagnostic accuracy, assessment, and evidence-based, patient-centered management in diverse populations.

This program is a collaboration between the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the Allergy and Asthma Network (AAN).

3.  Apply evidence-based and emerging therapies for atopic dermatitis using shared decision-making in patients with skin of color.
