ABAI Maintenance of Certification Read Important Message from ABMS
Due to COVID-19, the ABAI Board of Directors has made some immediate changes. A few of the changes are highlighted below. You may view all of the changes by clicking here.
Continuing certification:
- No diplomate will lose their certification this year or next as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. The expiration date for certificates expiring in 2020 have been extended to 12/31/2021
- The deadline for completion of the 2020 Continuous Assessment Program (CAP) Block 1 has been extended from 7/15/2020 to 1/15/2021; 2020 CAP Block 2 is cancelled.
- The deadline for all individual MOC requirements (parts I, II, III and IV) have been extended from 2020 to 12/31/2021.The 2020 Continuous Qualification Exam (CQE) for diplomates in the CAP re-entry pathway has been cancelled.

It ensures their methods for patient care are up-to-date, and it provides them guidance for important medical care decisions.
