Contact Dermatitis & Patch Testing: 2026 Updates for Allergists (AAN)
While many allergists remain familiar with the current guidelines supporting patch testing as the gold standard for diagnosing contact dermatitis. There are allergists who are not familiar with this guideline leaving a knowledge gap regarding individualized testing approaches, including an expanded allergen series for fragrance hydroperoxides, acrylates, and hair dyes. They also need to complete occupational exposure assessment and evaluate special populations such as children and adults with occupational dermatitis. Additional education is needed on the clinical significance of these guidelines.
This program is a collaboration between the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the Allergy and Asthma Network (AAN).
