Course Overview
Allergen immunotherapy, venom immunotherapy, and penicillin (Pre-Pen) skin testing reagents are considered compounding and fall under USP 797.

Join us for this intensive, hands-on, one-day workshop designed specifically for physicians and allied health professionals who prepare allergen extracts for patient care. Whether you're new to mixing or seeking a refresher to align with current standards, this workshop will provide the critical knowledge and practical experience you need to mix with confidence and compliance.

In alignment with USP Chapter 797 requirements, the course emphasizes contamination prevention, standardization, and safety protocols throughout the mixing process. You’ll start the day with engaging didactic sessions covering:

  • Immunotherapy basics and mechanisms of action
  • Allergen selection and SCIT prescription development
  • Allergen standardization, dosing, and compatibility
  • USP Chapter 797 requirements and compliance
  • Mixing room safety, workflow, and documentation
  • Serum billing, coding, and reimbursement

Then, put your learning into action with substantial hands-on training in:

  • Proper garbing technique
  • Glove-tip and media fill testing procedures

There will also be Q&A sessions with expert faculty.

Interactive Small-Group Scenario Sessions
Put your knowledge into practice during interactive, facilitator-led small-group sessions. Working in small groups, you’ll work through real-world scenarios addressing a range of allergen extract preparation and practice management challenges, including clinical considerations, USP Chapter 797 requirements, mixing procedures, operations, documentation, competency, and billing and coding.

These hands-on discussions are designed to encourage participation, problem-solving, and peer discussion while providing practical strategies you can apply in your practice.

All materials and lunch are provided.
