The Los Angeles Society of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology (LASAACI) is a CME educational meeting jointly provided by the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI) and the LASAACI. The 2025 program is a four-hour event with Faculty who are experts in their field and will provide evidence-based, clinical topics that address major aspects of attendee’s practices and will provide attendees exposure to new content.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI) and the Los Angeles Society of Allergy, Asthma & Clinical Immunology (LASAACI). The American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, attendees should be able to:

Childhood Asthma
Identify early-life gut microbial features associated with the subsequent development of childhood asthma and allergic disease
Evaluate evidence supporting a causal role for the infant gut microbiome in the development of asthma and allergic disease
Assess emerging microbiome-targeted strategies for the prevention of childhood asthma and allergic disease

Food Allergy
Become familiar with dosing and patient selection options to improve OIT safety and feasibility
Summarize efficacy data for omalizumab as a monotherapy as well as with OIT and dietary introduction
Review efficacy data for SLIT with diagnostic extracts and discuss alternative formulations to improve access
Review published data on alternative immunotherapies and biologics currently in various stages of development for food allergy
                         
Chronic Urticaria
Understand limitations of laboratory testing in chronic urticaria
Be able to discuss management of urticaria

Atopic Dermatitis in Patients with Skin of Color
Discuss epidemiologic differences and burden of disease of AD in SOC  
Identify intrinsic and extrinsic factors that may influence AD in highly pigmented populations  
Clinical Presentation: Identify key clinical and morphological features of AD in SOC populations
Contact Dermatitis – Recognize the importance of patch testing 
Therapy - Apply evidence-based and emerging therapies for AD in SOC populations
