All practicing allergists/immunologists
Fellows in allergy/immunology training programs
NPs and PAs in the field of allergy and immunology
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this Activity learners should be able to…
1. Describe key pathogenic mechanisms of CSU, including type 2 inflammation, autoimmunity, and mast cell activation pathways.
2. Discuss newer therapies approved for CSU, such as omalizumab, dupilumab, and remibrutinib, focusing on their indications and efficacy in refractory cases.
3. Describe novel therapeutic approaches for CSU in clinical development, including BTK inhibitors and anti-KIT antibodies.
4. Describe the various phenotypes of antibody deficiency as defined in the 2025 Practice Parameters for Inborn Errors of Immunity.
5. Evaluate patients for antibody deficiency using current clinically available immunizations.
6. Interpret laboratory tests for antibody deficiency.
7. Evaluate genetic test results for allergic and immunologic diseases, resolving variants of uncertain significance (VUS) through clinical correlation and functional studies.
8. Compare biologic therapies for severe asthma, including omalizumab, dupilumab, and anti-IL-5 agents, based on biomarkers like eosinophils and FeNO.
9. Separate HAE medications by understanding MOA and prescribe the right medication for each individual patient.
10. Diagnose AD in complex patients and use the appropriate topical or systemic therapy.
