FPIES, Allergy Proctobolitis and Other Non-IgE Driven Allergic GI Diseases (AAN)

Non-IgE-mediated gastrointestinal food allergies, including food protein-induced allergic proctocolitis (FPIAP), food protein-induced enteropathy (FPE), and food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES), remain underrecognized due to their variable presentations, lack of diagnostic biomarkers, and overlap with other gastrointestinal conditions. Clinicians may be unfamiliar with current diagnostic criteria, evidence-based management strategies, appropriate dietary interventions, and timing of food reintroduction. This activity addresses these knowledge and practice gaps by providing an evidence-based review of diagnosis, management, prognosis, and patient-centered care to improve clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.

This program is a collaboration between the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the Allergy and Asthma Network (AAN).

4. Incorporate multidisciplinary strategies, including nutritional support, emergency planning, and education, to optimize patient outcomes
