NJAAIS 2017 Teaching Day
Didactic lectures allow the speakers to provide evidence based medical recommendations, updates and expert opinion in an efficient manner held in a one day meeting.
Target Audience
Practicing allergists, primary care physicians, advanced practice providers and allied healthcare providers in the field of allergy.

Learning Objectives
1. Describe the role of the allergist/immunologist in diagnosing autoinflammatory disorders.
2. Identify differences in presentation and pathophysiology of common adult and pediatric autoinflammatory diseases.
3. Describe which environmental exposures are critical in the initiation and exacerbation of allergies and asthma.
4. Identify which evidence-based interventions are most effective and how to overcome socioeconomic and structural hurdles to implement these interventions in a practical way in our patients’ homes and community.
5. Recognize the latest updates on preventative guidelines for food allergy
6. Discuss safety and efficacy of food allergy therapies currently under investigation and explore the utility of combination therapies for food allergy.
7. Discuss the importance of asthma in older patients.
8. Recognize the effect of aging on inflammation and asthma.
9. Identify treatment approaches to asthma in older patients.
10. Discuss the new payment models and understand how other regulatory changes are impacting allergy practice.
11. List options to avoid Medicare penalties in 2019
12. Define an APM.
