GKCAS 2019 Annual Allergy & Asthma Symposium

There is a need for clinicians to stay advanced in their practice on diagnostic strategies and newer treatments of allergic disease. Lectures based on the latest clinical evidence as well as incorporating  practice parameters will allow clinicians to avoid negative consequences as they pertain to patient care --- these include diagnosis and treatment of venom hypersensitivity, the latest research in early introduction of highly allergenic foods, oral desensitization, various protocols for oral desensitization, eosinophilic disorders and mechanism of treatments.

This annual meeting will provide up-to-date, evidence based, practice information on oral immunotherapy, biological medications and primary immunodeficiency disease.

At the conclusion of this meeting, participants should be able to:

- Discuss Practice Parameter summary statements regarding the management of venom allergy and the use of venom immunotherapy
- Employ the latest recommendations in early introduction of allergenic foods and critique the ability to perform oral desensitization in their practice
- Recognize the clinical presentation of eosinophilic disorders and diagnose their patients appropriately
- Revise how they counsel introduction of solid foods in an infant's diet
- Integrate the material discussed at the meeting into their current practice
