EAC 2017 Update in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology

Didactic lectures allow speakers to provide evidence based medical recommendations, updates and expert opinion in an efficient manner. Problem based learning (PBL) breakout sessions allow a smaller audience to participate in case discussions.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI) and Eastern Allergy Conference (EAC). The American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Target Audience

Practicing allergists, fellows-in-training, primary care physicians and allied healthcare providers in the field of allergy.

Learning Objectives

Prescribe optimal therapy in patients with food allergy
Diagnose and manage drug allergy
Diagnose and manage hereditary angioedema
Discuss current and future allergy immunotherapy treatment options for venom, peanut and aeroallergen allergies
Diagnose and manage allergic skin diseases including chronic urticaria and atopic dermatitis
Describe the pathophysiology and diagnosis of COPD phenotypes
Evaluate for potential immunodeficiency
Discuss racial disparities in asthma care and what can be done to address them
Describe the pathophysiology and treatment of severe asthma
Describe epigenetics and how it relates to clinical allergy
